If your disposal is not working there are couple of things you can check first before calling a plumber. First, check the breaker box and make the breaker is not tripped. Second, on most newer disposals there is a crank and reset button on the bottom. Try turning the crank to see if that will unlock the blades, then push the red reset button. Tip: If you have a bad smell coming from the disposal try grinding up a 1/4 lemon wedge and running cold water through the sink for five minutes.
