   Garbage Disposals

If your disposal is not working there are couple of things you can check first before calling a plumber. First, check the breaker box and make the breaker is not tripped. Second, on most newer disposals there is a crank and reset button on the bottom. Try turning the crank to see if that will unlock the blades, then push the red reset button. If the disposal still won't turn on, it might be time to replace it. We will install any disposal you buy or we can provide one for you. We recommend the Badger or Insinkerator series of disposals.

Tip: If you have a bad smell coming from the disposal try grinding up a 1/4 lemon wedge and running cold water through the sink for five minutes.

Top ten things to never put down your garbage disposal:
  1. Egg Shells
  2. Rice
  3. Pasta
  4. Grease
  5. Potato peels
  6. Banana skins
  7. Celery
  8. Coffee grounds
  9. Meat
  10. Any non-food material
